Summary from Goodreads:
Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.
Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.
I love the covenant series so I knew after the way I was left hanging at the end of book three that I needed to read something to get me through. Plus after reading this short story I really this it is important to read this before diving into book four because some big things are happening in this short 80 page novella.
Basically it boils down to understanding Aiden better and if you have ever wished to read something from his pov this would be the novella for you. It is really interesting to see into his head and how he really feels about Alex. He really gets his moment to shine in this story because Alex is out of her mind and only connected with Seth at this point so he has to make life changing decisions for her, such as if she should be put on the famous elixir for half bloods or not. I was surprised by some of his choices but I guess certain things needed to happen and I can’t wait to see where this all goes.
“What is your name?” I asked, voice hoarse.
“Alexandria,” she repeated in a soft voice I’d never heard Alex use in real life.
“And who am I?”
“Aiden.” She smiled, and I flinched. “You are my Master.”
Summary from Goodreads:
Perfect for the fans of Shatter Me who are desperately awaiting the release of Unravel Me, this novella-length digital original will bridge the gap between these two novels from the perspective of the villain we all love to hate, Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.
In Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me, Juliette escaped from The Reestablishment by seducing Warner—and then putting a bullet in his shoulder. But as she’ll learn in Destroy Me, Warner is not that easy to get rid of. . .
Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.
“This girl is destroying me.”
After reading Shatter Me I knew I liked Warner but I wasn’t completely taken with him yet, I wanted to know more about him. I needed to know what made Warner who he is and why he acts the way he does. I wanted to know about his tortured past and what I could expect from him in the future. Was he going to remain the villain or was he going to show me more than that?
I’m happy to say I enjoyed Destroy Me, I liked getting into Warner’s head and life to see what he went through. I only wish I had even more time with him because I feel like he only let us see pieces of his life and I wanted to know more! I need more Warner and I really feel he is going to be a big character in Unravel Me.
“I have an extremely low threshold for disorder; it offends my very being.”
